Portraiture is where my journey began, and it will always hold a quiet, steady place in my practice.
What draws me in is the challenge of truly seeing someone or something— the invitation to look so closely that all assumptions fall away.
To forget what we think a face should look like, or what colour it should be.
There’s a quiet lesson in that.
It mirrors how I want to move through the world: with patience, without judgment, and with my full attention.
My favourite part of portraiture is letting it unfold — not through control, but through presence.
To become an observer instead of a controller.
To allow the image to emerge, simply and honestly.
